Boxed Water - Flavors Launch
A New Flavor of Water
I had the pleasure of working with The Boxed Water team to create a campaign for their first product launch in over five years—the launch of their new flavored water products. With the help of superhuman Creative Director, Mitchel McKenzie, we physically shot dozens and dozens of real fruit in a tiny little lightbox and rotoscoped countless shots to get the footage used in the video and the shots used in all the ads. I even wrote an original song to use in the video, that, sadly wasn’t used but it was still an exciting project nonetheless. We even won a Shorty award so, that was pretty cool ;)
Social Posts
Social media assets were much easier to create than expected because of Mitch McKenzie’s awesomely minimalistic but enormously effective design. With such bright, bold colors, the only real goal was to make sure the fruit still looked tantalizing, and the brand was still clearly visible without being lost in the vibrant layouts. I think we did a solid job.
Unsplash Collaboration
Boxed Water secured a collaboration with Unsplash.com to feature some special assets that we created just for them and their website. Most of these assets were green screened and then rotoscoped to get them masked cleanly. It was painstaking and worth it in the end.
Email Marketing
I designed close to two dozen emails for the Boxed Water team and this is just a small sample. Most of them featured the primary colors from the campaign, but a few went really off the rails. I’ll save those for my own future trips down memory lane.
Digital and Physical Ads
Just a handful of the digital and physical ads made for the campaign. There are many more of both that wont see the light of day.
The Year in Review
Aside from the flavors launch campaign, I designed dozens of other assets, ads, images, and even did some illustration for the Boxed Water team this last year. It was genuinely one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as an Art Director because I was able to draw from so many different styles and make something unique almost every time. You can see more in my other Boxed Water project.
